BTW I'm going to remove the FORMULA letters on the sides to buff or possibly wet sand the upper hull right below the rub rail. What would be good to reattach the letters with??

Thanks, will do.. Fingers Crossed for dry holes.. When I removed the battery tray, one screw was tight and dry. The other one spun not biting into anything but had what appeared to be foam on it, but also dry..

Boat is a 1988 242 LS. Can someone tell me that back where the battery mounts on the L side where it sits should it be wood with fiberglass over it or foam. . I had to remove the battery and tray and one screw was solid and the other went into a hollow space. I picked around in the space...
