Changing the battery layout 34PC - 3 banks (port, stbd, house)

The panel looks very nice!! Did you make the panel and then just have it sent out for paint and printing? Time will tell if I'm right ;). Hopefully you'll figure it out either way before the season starts to slip away.

Changing the battery layout 34PC - 3 banks (port, stbd, house)

Maybe its just me but this seems overly complex and I don't know that the juice is worth the squeeze. Probably cheaper to get a Tow Boat or Sea Tow membership and give them a call should the worst case happen.

    2000 31 PC

Agree with GSENT. Also will depend on how zincs were maintained/replaced and the condition of the Mercathode system which is meant to help combat this. Hour meters should be within the tachs at the helm and easily viewable assuming that the tachs are original.

New to Me 1998 27 PC

hmmm - that's odd. I bought a top from them several years ago and had no tag because I didn't have any canvas for my boat either. I will also say that it never fit right and they ended up refunding me after trying things for 2 seasons. Shot in the dark - sometime Great Lakes Skipper has NOS...

    Underwater Outboard?

Might not be a problem for a pontoon boat, but I could see issues getting up on plane because you are moving the weight further back. I see a lot of things that could become issues and "outs" for BRP in warranty situations. "Oh you didn't follow the torquing procedure for the cover which is...

Please be more specific as to what you are trying to repair.

    37PC Engine hatch removal

Having done this a couple of times on my 34PC which should be essentially the same hatch, its pretty easy. If you go inside the bilge area and look at the where the arm bolts to the bottom of the hatch, there are several phillips head machine screws that bolt up into the hatch. Remove those and...

    Cheap GPS

You could also try getting a used plotter of Craigslist or FB Marketplace. Certainly more economical than buying new.

Volvo Penta 5.7GSi Running Rich, Strong fuel smell

Also, is this boat some sort of Frankenstein? Why does it have VP motors and Mercruiser drives? Which was correct for the boat?

Volvo Penta 5.7GSi Running Rich, Strong fuel smell

Have you taken the TBI unit apart? It almost seems like the injector is just wide open dumping fuel in the motor. If its been sitting, it would probably be a good idea to take it apart and have the injector professionally cleaned to make sure it is working right. Ultimately it will help make...

    Cheap GPS

One thing to note is that a tablet or phone won't be bright enough. I tried this on my boat before buying my plotter and in bright sun it was almost uselss.

1987 formula 28pc. Restoration and bulkhead wood rot

Hi @frenk - Welcome to the forum! Have you tried reaching out to the Formula Technical Assistance Group (TAG)? They are part of Formula and typically have information on old Formulas. They were helpful to me when I had my 1998 31PC and now with my 2004 34PC. I think you can reach them at...

Losing Coolant, Found it on Seawater Side

Mr Cool makes solid stuff. That is what I purchased. Only issue I had us that they put one of the fitting slightly off angle so it made it very difficult to fit one of the hoses.

Losing Coolant, Found it on Seawater Side

I would definitely look into your heat exchanger. I had one that developed a leak this season and ended up replacing it with a new one. I kept the old one and will have it repaired to have a spare in case the one on the other engine decides to develop a leak. I would also suggest draining and...

Cabinet Door finish separating from door

Hey @stevenkreiger - I was not the person who did the iron trick; it was someone else on this board but I don't recall who it was. I know because I looked at the boat he ended up buying and recall all the delamination issues that boat had.

37PC - how long will your boat run on house batteries until they die ?

For me, we stay on our boat for days on a mooring and run the fridge non-stop. I run the generator a couple times a day to top the batteries up (my house batteries are 2 group 29's). I would say if your batteries are good, you should get at least 8-10 hours.

37 PC Cockpit Ice Changed to Refrigerator

Also - you do not need to cutout the panel behind the fridge to make it fit unless you want the fridge recessed. I created a small frame out of PVC boards and my fridge is flush with the front edge of the counter above.

37 PC Cockpit Ice Changed to Refrigerator

@joelc73 I did the same thing on my 34PC. When you open the cabinet just to the left, there should be a breaker panel as well as you house battery switch. In my panel, there was already a breaker spot for the fridge. I bought a breaker (don't remember the amperage), wired it into the panel...

    2000 31pc horn problem

OK - what's the problem? More information is always appreciated when you are requesting help. When you press the button do you hear the compressor run at all? Is the horn just not very loud? I had an issue once where mud wasps decided to make a home in the actual horn and had to dig that...

Intermittent alarm irrespective of whether the engine is running

Could be a fume detector that has gone bad. I read somewhere that the sensor should be replaced every 5 years but not sure how true that is. I know with CO detectors they are supposed to be swapped every 7 years.
