Here is my "67" Formula, I recently joined this forum and enjoy seeing that other people are interested in vintage Formula. This "67" Formula was completely rebuilt and repowered ready to fish. I keep this boat in Cape May New Jersey and fish offshore for sharks, tuna, marlin, sword, etc.. The only thing left is adjusting the boot stripe to the water line and she will be finished. John

Looks really nice. How the performance on those 3.0's. How fast does it cruise/top speed? How far do you take it out? How's it do on fuel consumption. Thanks.

I am the Director of Communications for Formula boats. I would love to get some hi-res photos emailed to me at tlhamilton@formulaboats.com of your vintage Formula, along w/a brief story or paragraph about your boating experiences.

Thanks so much!

i plan to buy is flow scan , it gets about 2 miles per gal.when i ripped up the deck i took out 500-600lbs ofwet foam
so i think i lightend her up.how thick is your hull back by the motors mine was only about 3-8s hope to here from you

Nice rig!!! i have a 75' 233 with twin merc 250's. (6 cyl.) and was thinking about a yanmar/ bravo with a jackshaft like the albemarle when i repower but with those numbers maybe its more reasonable to go with 3.0 liters. was it twin merc 6's stock?

crimsonghost233,

Yeah I looked into these as well and they are pretty reasonable. You can get a complete turn key motor with drive for about 6k a piece.

this boat was sportfish model and came with the old 3.0 which were 120hp. this is the third set of motors and drives
in 41 years.i know the other owners of the boat

Did any modifications have to be made in order to put these in or did they bolt up to the same engine mounts as the 120's (2.5L)?

Hello, my name is Wade Sterling of SSI,
Is it my imagination or does your boat have a slight tinge of blue to it? Also, I'm a freelance writer for several premiere fishing magazines worldwide and would appreciate the opportunity to get some additional information when you get a chance? If you could give me a breakdown of exactly what you did as part of your restoration process you may be chosen to appear on the cover of one of our prestigious magazines. In addition to just having your boat featured on one of covers, we are willing to compensate you for your time in the amount of $2500 as well as a generous array of tackle for picture propping. Basically we would like to use our sponsors' tackle which enables us to offset our costs by promoting and advertising for them. In return they allow you to keep anything used during the photo shoot. It is not uncommon for a featured boat owner to walk away with 4-6 Penn 50's as well as our electronics package which includes but is not limited to GPS, Radar, Fish Finders, Radios, and other goodies which will surely motivate you to compile all your information in a timely manner and cooperate with our photographers and equipment specialists during the photo shoot. Anyway, send me a contact phone number so I can give you a call as soon as possible. Thanks Thunderbird! -Wade Sterling, SuperSport Seamasters International (SSI)

Hello to all from a new owner of a 1967 233, which is just beginning its restoration at Pendleton Yacht Yard in Islesboro, Maine.

Welcome and good luck with the project. Would love to see some pics if you have a chance to post some.
