1980 Formula One...just purchased

I just purchased a 1980 Formula One. The boat was pretty well kept over the years. Its all there and the original motor (120HP Merc.) runs well. I'm just going through it to get it where I think it needs to be. I just re-sprayed the upholstery with SEM Color Coat, an excellent vinyl paint. I just rebuilt the carb and replaced the illegal fuel line with a new fabricated steel line. The boat is so well laid out and very easy to work on. I've attached a pic of the boat.

Looking good! Does the boat have the original engine hatch cover? If so, do you have any pics of the hinge(s)? and strut if there is one? I need to fabricate the original setup as mine is AWOL.

Thanks!

I finally got my recently purchased Formula One boat out on the water for the first time. I had to rebuild the carb, install new plugs, points and condenser and change the oil and filter. The boat ran great and I really enjoyed the ride!

Here are some new pics:

Congratulations and good luck with your boat!
I'm currently rebuilding the drive on mine. Next up is a new custom dash in white gelcoat and yellow Kevlar.

New engine hatch and vent cover. I've almost got the gelcoat matched. The hatch is a little too white but the rear cover is closer. I'll be re-spraying them once I get the color right. This week I'm working on the new dash.

Wow, your boat is clean. We got ours out at the end of the season last year and we were impressed with the mercruiser 485 (190 hp). We hit 55 on the boat speedometer did not have a chance to check with a GPS.
