Does anybody have the specs fuel burn and stuff like that from boattests.com
on this model with the yanmar. 6LY - STE. 440 HP Diesel’s

I was just wondering about fuel burn how does that boat playing with the extra weight on the back?
and does that motor require a lot of maintenance? Any information would be helpful thanks.

I think boattest shows about 1.3 mpg which I think is a little too optomistic, probably closer to a little over 1 mpg. You won't be worrying about planing with the torque of the diesels.

Diesels require maintenance for sure just like any other engine, for me the cost of owning diesels has been far less than gas. You don't have manifolds and risers that need to get changed every 3-5 years. You can get the oil from Walmart and the filters aren't too expensive. If I was looking at an 01/02 I would make sure the turbo's don't have any rust on them from water coming back through the exhaust, there isn't much of an angle on the exhaust tubes.

You need to make sure you can reach the recomended wide open throttle or the engines are overloaded and they will not survive.

Knock on wood but I have had mine for 11 seasons and they have never not started or needed a repair.
