280ss transducer broke off.

the transducer (garmin) mounted at the very bottom of the hull keeps breaking off. Not sure how it's happening, I can't imagine its from water force its suppose to be lower than the hull. Thoughts or experience around this? Could it be the trailer? it seems to be snapping off at the mounting point like it must have hit something. The only thing I could think of is the trailer, but how. Just wondering if other owners experienced this issue as well.

Most likely the trailer, that is the usual culprit that I have seen in the past, usually catches a bunk when floating on or off.
 
The bottom of the transducer should be about even with bottom of hull. Otherwise its may be as cebulap indicated
