382 Genset question

I am purchasing a 2007 382, with a/c, shore power, vacu flush. I would like to have a genset installed. I DO NOT want to attempt this myself, as I am mechanically dumb.

My questions are:

1. Can this be done without hurting the integrity of the boat?
2. Is the factory genset the best option?
3. I live near Columbus OH, has anyone had work done by someone close that they trust?

thanks for your help

I installed a Kohler 5ekd in my boat last week. Took me about 12 hours taking my time...up and down the ladder 200 times takes time LOL. The hardest part is coming up with a parts list for the install. Formula was nice enough to send me about 30 photos to help out and it was pretty easy. I'd be happy to give you a parts list if it helps. I got my genset on eBay for $4300...was a returned item with 0.1hrs on it. I spent another $1500 or so in parts to install it. I would guess someone would charge $2500 or so to install
