Aft sunpad seat hinge replacement

Have any of you replaced the bracket which acts as a hinge on the aft pad to storage? Our gas strut froze and when shutting the storage the brackets came off the pins. When putting it back to repair I noticed that the metal brackets with the hole in them for the pin are damaged.
I suppose we would have to cut open the vinyl to replace and then sew a patch back in the corners.
Looking for tips on how to do this.

You shouldn?t have to cut open and sew up. Is access what you need? There is a piece that runs the length of the seat, which you can flip up, if I remember correctly, to get to where you want to be. It?s hard to describe, away from my boat, else I would take pics, etc.

Thanks. Ours is from 2013. Perhaps they are different. I couldn't see the access. I'll look again later today after work.
