Bomar Hatch cost $$$

Like many of you with older Formulas, our hatch handles have come unglued. I finally got some info together on them and got a quote from Bomar that made my jaw drop. Just one Bomar hatch for the hardtop is $2300. Outrageous. I am going to try to reglue with Scigrip- a product suggested on this forum several years ago, but we really need new hatches. Anyone have other suggestions for quality hatches that might fit?
 
I would check with Vince over at Ahoy Captain - He seems to have lots of good and in some cases old inventory. Note Formula is famous for using custom sized hatches for their boats so they are very hard to get not directly from Formula. That said, Formula used to order hatches through Ahoy Caption. I was lucky enough to find one buried in his stock that fit my boat for a 2005 34PC. https://www.ahoycaptain.com/

You might check out greatlakesskipper.com for hatches. I bought several from them for our last boat. They have a bunch of surplus equipment.

Over on my Monterey Boats FB group, guys have posted about older Bomar Hatches with the glue on handles that notoriously fail. The glue doesn't work. One guy posted that they ended up drilling a hole through the acrylic (be careful---skill required) and converted to the hatches that go through the plexiglass. I have the newer type Bomar hatch with the handles that go through the plexiglass. Bomar is expensive for parts though----$100 minimum order with an 8% surcharge and then tax and shipping. I only needed a $25 part for a repair----long story---I found a reseller to adopt the part number I needed into their system and then they ordered and drop shipped it to me. About $65 when all said and done but Bomar doesn't make it easy to do business with.
 
My glue-on latches are missing. Did not come with the boat when I bought it. I wish I could find some that I could glue back on with the above adhesive.
