Hello all?

Has anyone replaced the ice maker, can you let me know where you sourced the part, and how you removed and installed the new unit? TIA!

Did you ever find a replacement part? My fridge was temperamental last season and I'm fearing I might need to replace it this season.

How did you determine it was actually bad? my fridge works fine but the ice maker doesn't work. When I turned it on for the first time it made one batch of ice then stopped. I checked to make sure I had water flowing (which I do) but it hasn't made any ice since that first time.

My fridge works fine, as well. When it was turned on for the first time this spring, it hasn?t made any ice; the gears are attempting to cycle, but don?t get moving along.

When I purchase mine, the ice maker was not working (same thing, gears would turn but no ice) I had the local repair guy come and he replaced the upper unit that produces the ice (Not sure it was only a part in there or the whole unit). I forget the cost but it was somewhere around $300 to $400.

**Just looked it up, it was part #: 80-54372-00 and it was $307.00.

I have a 48 Yacht, does anyone know where the shut off is. The ice maker is pouring water out, lifted bar above cubes and water continues to pour out????

If you remove the square white cover, in front of the ice maker, there is a screw, to the left of the main gear. If you can turn it to the left or right, you may be able to get it to stop. Else, you need to get behind the fridge, or turn the water off at the source, ie, your dock. It sounds like your ice maker is shot, like mine was.

I replaced the ice maker unit but still no ice, the gears are not turning and I don't think it's getting water. I definitely have water pressure to the valve but I don't think the valve is opening. I ordered a new one and will try to replace that. If anyone has other ideas please let me know. This is getting frustrating.

Quick update, my problem ended up being the valve that feeds the ice maker water. Before you spend $300+ on an ice maker unit check that it?s getting water in the first place.
