Wow how things have changed here. I see all the specific boat categories are not here now and the site is condensed a lot. Since I can't target the FASTech and Super Sport 370/400 boaters I guess it just goes "general" now.
So here's the deal. My 419 FASTech generator will not stay running while on plane. The steps foam up the water so much that the generator inlet will not pick up enough water to keep the generator fed and cooled at 40mph so it does an over temp shutdown.
Here is the question: Does a generator on anyone's 400SS or 370SS stay running while on plane? These boats also have a stepped hull which would foam the water like my FASTech does but I wonder if the same problem is there or if it is different?
If your generator on a stepped hull stays running on plane, where is your generator pickup/inlet located?
I know some other go-fast boats that have stepped hulls and their gens run on plane just fine. I will change mine for that purpose but I am looking for a location idea from the Formula production before long efforts of testing to find the optimal location for my boat.
TIA
