early IPS 600 propeller spinner installation

A buddy has an ealy set up where the spinner/cone fits over the hex bolt that screws onto the prop nut. It appears the only function of the hex bolt is to remove the spinner be unscrewing the bolt forceing the spinner over the 'bulge' on and off the prop nut. Mine has the hex bolt screweng through the spinner onto the prop nut. We cannot get the spinner back onto the prop nut. It wont fit back over the 'bulge' on the prop nut. Any ideas??

I have the same setup and tapped it with a rubber mallet it went on it's just tight and then yes the bolt is how you back it off....

But then again maybe I'm confused because my spinner does not have a bolt going through it.

I use the bolt to remove the hub but had to use a ratchet strap around the drive and hub to persuade it back over the bolt.

Haha I never thought of that might have been easier than my rubber mallet banging
