Fuel capacity and length of pickup tubes 37/40 PC

I am wondering if both tanks are equal size and total 250 gallons. I burned 133 gallons of fuel and my gauges were almost 3/4. Also would you know how far off the tank the pickups are? I found water in the bowl because of a missing o ring. Now I am worried water is laying below the pickups. I appreciate any advice. Thanks

The port tank supplies your generator and the tank holds about 10 gallons more than starboard tank. Generally the pickup tubes are about an inch from the bottom of the tank. I find that my fuel gauges are overall pretty accurate. The first half of the tank comes of the gauge a little slower than the second half.

As Wazoo stated, the port tank holds about 130 gallons and the starboard tank holds about 118 gallons. The port tank has two (2) fuel pickups. One for the engine and one for the generator. Be aware that the pickup for the generator is shorter than the pickup for the engine to prevent the generator from draining the port tank. The generator will stop drawing fuel at about 1/4 of a tank.

Thanks. So should I be concerned with some water in the racor bowl? I solved the problem but am worried about the bottom of the tank. Also, I loosened the nut under the racor to drain the water. Water and then fuel drained out but also filled and overflowed the stainless steel deflector, What am I doing wrong ? Thanks

Never let the Racor bowl fill with water. At that point it will spill over into the secondary filter. Don't worry about the bottom of the tank. As you use your boat and it bounces, that water will find it's way into the Racor and you can empty it. You may have to keep an eye on it for a few trips.

I think you loosened the wrong nut. The lowest knurled knob below the the heat shield is actually a spigot. You should be able to loosen it and the fuel will pour out (try turning it in the opposite direction). If I remember correctly it turns the other way to loosen.

It shouldn't be a bolt. it should be a black plastic hollow spigot that opens and closes when loosened and tightened.

FYI, on my 2007 31 PC the port tank Engine pick-up tube is 2" from the bottom of the tank and the Generator pick-up tube is 4" from the bottom of the tank.....
