Garmin GPSMAP 1040

Anyone have this plotter. They are really cheap now, less than 1000 bucks! I like the buttons and not a big fan of the touch screen thing. I may use it as a secondary. Opinions! BTW I really like Garmin stuff. Had it in my old boat very user friendly. Thanks!!
 
From what I have read, the units are solid, but older technology, 2012-2014 timeframe, which is why they are now going so cheaply.
 
Eric how long did they make that 37/40 PC, I know in2004 they came out with the official 40PC, just saw one of your boats for sale and it confused the heck out me, looks awesome though.

This model started out in 2000 as the 37PC and mid way through the 2001 MY renamed it the 40PC, which is still in production today. My boat was made in October of 2000 as a 2001 Model. Size wise it is the same as the 40pc. I have the gas engines, which are very good, but also very thirsty.
