Intermittent alarm irrespective of whether the engine is running

I am getting a high pitched alarm in the engine compartment 24/7. Lasts for around 60 seconds, then off for around 5 minutes, then repeats. Bilge is dry but we did have a deluge a few days ago. Happens whether the boat is running or not. Same repeat frequency if I start the boat. I have a 37pc with ips.

Sounds like a high water alarm. Is the sound coming from under the dash? I would check the aft cabin bilge for water. The pump is operated from the manual switch at the helm and also with an automatic float switch. You will need to empty the aft cabin seating storage and lift the bottom door to access the pump and float switches.

Could be a fume detector that has gone bad. I read somewhere that the sensor should be replaced every 5 years but not sure how true that is. I know with CO detectors they are supposed to be swapped every 7 years.

Turned out to be my Arid bilgesip system, which apparently failed. It has an internal high pitched alarm. According to the manufacturer, you can’t turn it off. So I had to cut the power wire. Totally annoying pain.
