IPS Gear Oil

Has anyone used Amsoil for the IPS pods ? A friend of mine researched and said Volvo s gear oil for pods is made by Mobil. Makes sense since Volvo is not in the oil business. The marine Amsoil synthetic has been tested and is suitable for high pressure anti foaming and has been tested with 10% water contamination with no issues. Any thoughts?

Good afternoon...just bumping this as I am tired of overpaying. You guys all know I am OCD though, so I have been hesitant to switch to Amsoil vs VP Brand.

Any comments ?

funny because i use Shell Rotella T in the engines, but i don't mess with the pods. i've stuck with VP...

I’ve been using Amsoil for the past two seasons. No issues. BTW, I posted in another thread, Volvo doesn’t manufacture their own oil, as long as it meets the specs it’s fine to use
