Port Engine Alarm...

Engines: 2017 Twin 8.2L Mercruiser--- Was out today and was at WOT for maybe a minute or two and then I got this Port engine guardian alarm. It actually went off and on quickly like 10 times. Noting stayed active but it was in the alarm history to see. So I checked all the vitals and I noticed a pretty big discrepancy with oil pressure. Check out pics. I guess my question is that normal? And how do i find out what the alarm was for? It may have nothing to do with oil pressure, just something I noticed.

Not saying that this is what you are running into but I had an issue a couple of weeks ago where I started getting an alarm but all temps and pressures looked good. Ended up be a oil pressure sensor (different sending unit than what is used for the oil pressure gauge). Swapped it out and no more alarm.

I'd say oil pressure looks like a problem. I have the same engines, 8.2 Mercs, 2015. My oil pressure is always 60-61 psi at idle. Start there.

The odd part is its the port engine that alarmed which seems to show more normal oil pressure. I'm in Brick too and rang Comstock about it... I think my whole vessel view is acting weird. Even my fuel gauge seems to bounce around from Full to half full way too easily....

I don't see any issue with your readings, but the fuel gauge bouncing may mean there is a loose or bad connection. If the PCM sees less then 12V there will be an alarm

I gave a call to Mercruiser and they sort of said the same thing. Nothings wrong with the oil pressure being that far apart.. told me the alarm for oil pressure wont happen until it drops to 5 PSI. They did mention to check the water pressure to see if maybe its an impeller issue. This happened at WOT, so maybe something happened. I didn't have that vital on the screen so ill have to dig around and see what the reading is. Agree on the fuel sensor, need to see where that is.

I would do the easy stuff first, go back and check all your battery connections and grounding cables. Loose ground wires can cause all kinds of issues with the boats electrical system, double check everything before you start replacing parts.
