We were out last weekend and had the generator running without any issues. The admiral shut it off at bed time and she ain't hit a lick since. hasn't even attempted to fire. these are the diagnostics i've run so far: fuel pump, fuel pump solenoid, choke actuator all check out fine, even poured a small amount of fuel into carb to see if it might hit but got nothing. went to circuit board to check terminals for voltage per the only repair manual that i could find, all checks out fine. test light to positive side of coil shows 12 volts during cranking cycle which leads me to believe all the safety circuits are ok, the manual shows that testing the circuits is supposed to be done with the generator running. i aint getting no spark out of the coil. i realize this could be an issue with the points or the condenser as well but since she went from running perfect to dead i am leaning toward the coil as the culprit. there just isn't much info out there on this genset so if anyone has any experience with these older units i would appreciate any help.

I'm by no means an expert but I would guess it's electrical. Sounds like it's trying to start but it is still off...

I'm with Al. Start at the on/off switch and trace the wires back to see if she is still grounded to power off. Run breaker to start?
