Raymarine C 80

Thank you for getting back with us. This will help us budget for the installation process. Our Formula tech now has the unit so it's just a matter of time to get the unit installed. Something about upcoming Boat Shows interfering with scheduling projects at this time of the year. Go figure!

If we may ask you another question...do you have any experience installing after market engine room sound insulation? My bride loves our 37 PC but isn't too fond of the roar of the 496 HO's & has expressed her "concern" in her usual loving way. ;)

Happy New Year!

GABBY GIRL,
KNEW SOMEONE THAT USED AN INEXPENSIVE SOUND INSULATION, AND IT DID NOT HOLD UP. IN FACT IT DISCINEGRATED, AND RUINED ONE OF HIS ENGINES BY GETTING PLUGGED UP IN THE FLAME ARRESTER.
I'M NOT SURE WHY, BUT MINE CAME INSULATED FROM FORMULA, AND IS JUST FINE. THEN AGAIN, I'M IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. IF YOU CHOOSE TO RE-INSULATE, MAKE SURE IT HAS A SEALED FOIL OR PLASTIC THAT KEEPS IT IN PLACE, AND CANNOT COME LOOSE. GOOD LUCK.

Great advice. Thanks for the tip. All I know is that I'm going to have to try something in order to keep the peace. Like you...I love the roar of the 496's along with our boating friend...but the spouses hate the noise.
I'll see if anyone has any other suggestions as to a quality product. ???

I too am often in the drivers seat. I can't imagine your boat would be that noisy. Are you running with the encloser up, Are you sure your engine hatch is going all the way down, is the factory sound proofing intact under both lids? I will ask some of my customers to see what they think of the noise level in their boat.

I'm the rookie member so I'm the one that needs to apologize to the Forum. Just got caught up in the moment.

I have a Raymarine C80 and a ST60 display. I can get the C80 to display boat speed in mph but the ST60 displays in knots. I have gone into the setup menu on the ST60 and changed the speed units but it just changes automatically back to knots. I must be doing something wrong so if anyone has any ideas please share them.

Mine does the same thing :( I have a tech coming out this week to check it out.

It turns out that the st60 doesn't read mph from the c80 that is why it resets itself.

Next time in Havasu, you going to teach me how to use my E80 and all the stuff that is with it?
