Replacing sliding cabin door lock?

Good afternoon all!
The Southco Mobello locking mechanism for the sliding cabin door is broken. When I purchased the 2007 34 PC used, the key was bent. Most likely the prior owner had left the key in the lock, the cabin door slid open and with the key in place, damaged the lock. Has anyone replaced the latch/lock? Is it difficult? I can turn the key ALMOST all the way, but can't remove the key when it's turned.

Thanks!
Rick

Found the answer. The cabin latch is a sealed unit. If the lock stops working, replace the unit. It's a Southco Mobella MF-02-110-24. To remove, there's a single bolt on the inside. Remove the bolt and pop the other fastening end of the bolt out. Then the whole unit slides out from the door. Requires some effort as there will be a fair amount of clear silicon caulk used around the opening.

You beat me there! I replaced mine last year, same deal...someone tried to open the door with the key in the lock. Was a little bit of a pain to get the old one out. New one slid right in.

So, just purchased my ‘95 280SS…..Seems to have this same cabin latch mechanism. I closed and locked the door upon purchasing it and driving it 600 miles to my home, and now I can’t get the latch to unlock. The key does enter the hole and turn the mechanism, but the latch mechanism does not function such that I can open the door…..so, I am locked out! Can’t even show my family the cabin of our newly purchased boat…Lol. Any ideas would be helpful. G
