SeaKey Screen Question

I have one of the "out of business" SeaKey displays on my 40PC (See pic). I noticed it seems to be the same screen that VP uses as the EVC display on the VP IPS installations. Does anyone know if the SeaKey display would work in the case where a VP EVC display has failed? Do these units actually contain software of their own, or do they get all displayed items from what ever control module they are connected to? I have also included a pic of the VP EVC screen for comparison.

i'm fairly certain that the EVC displays do have software of their own. i had replaced a pair a long time ago, and i believe the software had to be updated so that it would display correctly.
