Seawater in Turbo - Yanmar 6L2A

As part of my winterizing I decided to pull the exhaust and check the turbo's and I found some water in there, more like condensation but there is some corrosion inside the turbo. I'm on boatdiesel and I am familiar with the problems this can cause. Has anyone experienced this? A custom exhaust to move the mixing elbow is a lot of money. I have an 02 40PC and I have noticed that some of the newer models with the Yanmars have a much taller exhaust, it almost touches the top of the engine compartment, mine is probably 3-4 inches shorter than that. I wonder if Formula changed the design due to this issue?

I was shopping 6L2A powered 40PCs and really questioned the exhaust on the first I saw (an 03). The 08 I looked at had much taller exhaust, leaving less chance of water reversion.

I wouldn't trust the earlier design personally, it's simply not tall enough. I'd reach out to formula and see if you can get a discount on the newer exhaust. It's got to be cheaper than new turbos (or heads if water runs back even further)

Here are a few pictures.

I ended up having Stainless Marine make new risers. We increased the height 3.25" and extended the outlet around an inch and angled it down. The angle is far better now and I shouldn't have any more issues.

Formula said they never changed the design and weren't really any help, it's obvious by looking at newer models that they did but it took multiple calls to get a single response so I gave up.
