UF (Under Frequency) status code on Kohler 7.3kw low-E (gas) generator display

Can anyone explain to me what the above code is indicating? I pulled the maual out and read it but not quite sure what is pointing to. I started the generator via the remote start from the panel and it ran for about 1 or 2 minutes and died. Any ideas??????
 
Sounds like the electrical frequency is below limit (60hz + or - some amount). Frequency is governed by the speed of the generator, so I'd guess this code means the generator engine isn't running fast enough (spec is 3600 rpm?) causing your AC frequency to be too low. Can you hook up a hand-held tach to verify the engine speed?
 
Thanks everyone for the replies. I had the tech out to the boat and it turned out the impeller disintegrated. He was not sure why it displayed the UF code instead of a water flow issue code, but after flushing and replacing the impeller it worked perfect.
