Volvo QL tabs

Anybody have a new set of QL tabs or a source? We have called around with no luck.

I am in need of the 2 larger ones. Back ordered until mid August.

The boat is getting a few items addressed, and there is no stock. I am willing to buy them or just replace them when the warranty ones arrive.

2017 Yacht.

These folks are displaying in stock.

1 left in stock.

If you can, keep a complete set in your parts kit, because it would make it much easier if you were on a long trip, and got stuck.

Only 1 of the 4 is bad? I?ve had 1 large and 1 small on either side out at the same time, and was able to compensate by going 100% bow down, on one side. It was annoying, but did the trick, until I could get the job done.

Thanks, CT.

The 2 450s are not working. I already spoke to Hamilton, they have one. iBoats cannot confirm they have a 450.

Spoke to Washburn in MD, they are going to get me a list of dealers to try. Mostly dead ends right now. Not a lot of stock available, and Volvo usually ships to most dealers in a day or two, so no reason to have them on the shelf.

Was able to acquire a pair, on the boat and ready to launch in the next week!

Excellent, looks great. Now, looking your pic, makes me think of something. Did you check the pod zincs? They are located in the highlighted area of attached pic; it?s a little difficult to see, but this one is pretty much used up.

Yes, new and they are steel. You can’t tell by looking at them, you have to weigh them.

My Volvo guy Rocks! Hopefully I don’t need him too often…

Good to hear, and you will not need him too often, no chance. Thanks for the reminder, I do remember now they are steel, and yes very heavy. Good luck with everything, going forward.

I have the top lights blinking on my Trim Tab panel which means the control module is not communicating with the control panel. Does anyone know it this system has a fuse or circuit breaker between the two units? If so where????

On my 2012 45, under the gear/throttle shifters/ joystick, there is a Port Trim Tab circuit breaker. You could check to see if you have one, and if it popped out. Interestingly, I have a spot labeled for Starboard, but without the breaker, probably there from the generation before the interceptor style.

Also, have you located the box where each of the interceptors plug in, on the wall of the engine compartment, just aft of the master head pump? You might want to try unplugging and replugging each one back in. If there is a fuse, I would think it would be visible there, as well.

I replaced the connector panel in the engine room and that fixed my problem. All system are working as they should now. Thanks

I now got the same problem you had, top 2 green LED lights blinking. Did you replace the connector panel yourself, how much was the part? If you did the job yourself is there anything tricky to look out for? I see there are 2 screws, and what looks like battery connections. Thanks in advance.

It was an incredibly easy fix two screws hold it on the side of the engine room then it is only two electrical wires a positive and the negative that need to be connected. Just make sure to reinstall the tab controller wires and the exact same slots in the new panel so they will work correctly. Mine were labeled from the factory. The unit will come with about 40 feet of power cable but I just cut it to the right size and spliced them in to the existing positive and negative cables so I did not have to run new wires to the electrical panel. I then used waterproof butt connectors with waterproof heat shrink protectors. The part was around $225 from Volvo. It took me about an hour start to finish on this job. The unit will come with instructions on how to reprogram the controller at the helm station which will take less than two minutes to accomplish. all in all a very easy project.

Thanks for the details, will do this week!
