Due to a tragic boating accident on False River this past May, Law maker's here have up'd the antie on Hotdog's and Boozer's. The La.Dept.of Wildlife&Fisheries are going to hit'em were it hurt's.Wreckless opporation, DUI or DWI violation's, Will be posted on your driver's license. And no one under the age of 16 can opporate a moterized boat. All person's under 18 yrs. old must wear PFD's(LIFE JACKETS) at all times. Fines are high and they can now confiscate your boat. The new laws also state's that persons with a suppended or revolked drivers license cannot operate a boat. I have been informed by friend's that work for LDWF Enforcement. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for violator's.So if any of you guy's are planing to visit Cajun Country,Please have your duck's in a row.

In Maryland, if you get a boating while intoxicated, it counts against your drivers license. So, the laws down there don't shock me. I think it is necessary. I see too many folks way to drunk to be operating boats. Don't get me wrong, I love my booze, but I do the drinking at the dock or when we anchor for the night.
