Winter Projects

This thread has been very quiet lately so I wanted to check in to see what interesting projects that the group are planning / working on over the winter. Let?s talk about our upgrades and maintenance plans to get our boats ready for a great 2023 boating season.

Got a couple things I’m working on, but mostly gathering up extra parts to have on hand for potential issues. We are planning to tour the East Coast next fall and spend next winter south.

Have to reseal my skylights over the winter and re-caulk the windshield and hard top. Poor job done when the boat was prepped new, now there are multiple leaks that need attention. Some water spots on the hull and of course…Wax, Wax, Wax.

I am on the same track. I had to get all of my caulking done last spring as well for the same reason. I am gathering up extra parts as well I need to get some extra gaskets for my raw water strainers and a few other items.

I’m curious what wax you use on your boats. My wax guy uses Shurehold Pro Polish on my other non painted boat but since this boat is painted I have been told that Maguire's Marine wax is best.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this question

I see many newer 45's that have what appears to be a black rubber tread in the steps going down to the cabin. While my boat was ordered pretty loaded my steps do not have these black treads in the grooves. My steps are not slick but I like the look so my question is was this an option or something that others have added to thier boats.

I put a new trim ram on Starboard, and am waiting until it's a bit warmer to replace 2 raw water impellers, and then wax the boat.
