Wiring through Fiberglass radar arch

So, I just got a quote from Langer Krell electronics here in Florida for the install and purchase of Garmin 18HD Radar antenna, Garmin 741xs MFD and an Airmar transducer. I own an 06 280SS with a fiberglass radar arch. The total on the equipment was 3k but they wanted another 1700 for install. I am contemplating attacking this myself. I think the most difficult part is running the wiring to the antenna and the transducer. Has anyone done this on their own? How easy or hard is it? I see that there are a few access panels along the way, any experience would be appreciated.

I ran wiring into the arch in my 280SS. It was not easy but it could have been worse. You can remove the light in the arch and snake down to the Starboard side of the boat. The snake tends to get hung up on the wiring but it will go. You can then get to the snake from the small access panel below the throttles by putting something in there and grabbing it. It's a lot of twisting and bending with almost no room to spare. If you do it I would recommend leaving a pull string in there for future mods.

I can't help with the transducer but you can run from the access panel to the engine compartment very easily, you just need to remove the sound barrier from inside the engine compartment.

Thanks Nate, I might do just that. Try to run a snake wire first, and if I can get that done then the rest of the job seems pretty straightforward.

How did it go?
