The threads on my bell-housing were stripped. $700 for a new one, or less to rethread it.

So... helicoil kit, drill bit, and some locktite.

all in, was $60 and I'm happy as a clam. I'm sure it would have cost the same $60 or more for someone else to do this, and now I have the skills and tools if there is a next time. The hole is so clean and nice, I thought about doing the other side just for fun... But didn't since you can only do this once, and the other side took 150 lbs just fine.

The coil was a bit longer than the housing is wide, so I just clipped off the end on the inside.

I used red lock-tite on the outside of the coil, in an attempt to keep it from ever backing out of the housing.

I waited 24 hours while the lock-tite dried, then installed the bell housing and drive.

it was... actually quite easy to install. the hardest part was having to find a T-driver for the 7/16" shank on the tap. I ended up modifying one I have to make it fit. I know i wanted the hole dead strait.

Now the drive is on and it pivots up/down super smooth!
