I posed this question on another thread but I wanted to reach out. 2006 Merc 8.1's with Smartcraft, are the hours on the tach's coming straight from the ECU? Or are they susceptible to being run up by ignition key position? Thanks!

Well I finally found a boat. 2006 Cruisers Yachts 340 Express. I could not find a 34pc with inboards so I went plan B. Merc 8.1's with 800hrs. Anyone know these boats/motors?

I am looking to remove my bow pulpit in order to seal it from leaking into the cabin. While r&r on the windlass it looked to be as easy as two bolts and the forward most stanchions. Besides the wires, does anything else have to be removed such as the two cleats and the windlass? Thanks, Mike.

Any advice on how to pull a shift cable back to the dash remote on a 29pc? Fish tape or connect to the old cable? Tricks of the trade would be appreciated!
