If you do feel you need more support on your mounting surface add a piece of poly. The pic is JL free air 12". In our prior boat, 48Y I installed a 10W6 (non marine) under the helm seat. I added a piece of poly for support and a ported box behind it under the sink and work very well.

Thought i would share some pics of my custom sun shade i had made for the 48. They did an incredible job. They even refit my isinglass around the frame.

I cross referenced my power steering filter and replaced it with a Wix. It is now leaking at the seal. I figure it may not have been a perfect fit cross over so with the correct part number i will get a new filter in there. If no has the number I'll call Formula.
