    I'm sure you've figured out by now that the 3 batteries on the port are the house bank, and the 2 on the starboard are the starting batteries for the motors. And one more in the back for the generator.
    Hi knarfsson, I have a question about batteries (we have the same engine setups). Are the three batteries on the port side all used as starting batteries for the port engine? My port engine is cranking slower on start up than my starboard engine, like a weak battery in a car. When running the port side is charging at 12 volts, the starboard at 13.5 volts according to my VDO gauges.

    As you know, the starboard side has two batteries. So I question if all three on the port are used for starting. One may be a house battery??

    I may just replace all three. They?re traditional lead acid batteries (Napa Commercial brand) so the cost will only be about $150 to $170 each.
