ok cuda, or castines, or who ever can help would be appreciated. we are going to repaint or gelcoat the top deck and hullsides of our baby this winter. what do i have to know about removing the windshield, bow rails, hatches,cleats,and so on. do i have to drop the cutty celing complete? please call me or put info on this thread. thanks alot in advance Jay Wagner 262 424 3880 cent std time
 
Sorry Jay, not familiar with that boat. There is some detail in one of the threads about taking off a windshied in the PC section of the site. I am sure others will chime in.
 
In my 78 233 the fasteners were just burried in the carpet. If the windshield is the same style as mine you will want lot of help to slide the joints appart. I put lots of WD-40 on the joints a day prior to pulling it appart. I don't know if it helped, but it came appart without a snag. Hope this helps
 
Windshield is all done from the top. My advice on the reinstall is start at the front and work to the back.

Cleats on my 87, 242 are through bolted but the bow rail I don't know about. The very end of it was through bolted but that is all I took loose.

I did reglue my cabin ceiling where it had come loose. I had to take the narrow trim piece that goes around the inside of the cabin about where the rub rail is on the outside of the boat. From there access was pretty easy to most of the ceiling attachments. I would guess from this that only the same amount of removal would get you to the bow rail and cleats, but I haven't done it.
