2005 40 pc 496s v drives GOES INTO GEAR BY ITSELF! Smartcraft problems?

I have been having smart craft faults can2 fault 16 - starboard will quit/ turn key get nothing other times just rolls over and will NOT start. Next day it will run??

changed map sensor no change
changed manifold sensor no change

boat will run 2-3 hours with no problem, but putting it in the slip (at idle/working transmissions) causes Smartcraft faults

after 2 hours of no problems last sunday - boat was tied up in slip with both motors idling and they went into gear by themselves (startled the hell out of me!)

had mercruiser tech on boat last Friday - ?you got fuel/air ratio problems we need to take a test ride?- went out yesterday and ran fine for an hour. Put it in slip, tied up & it went into gear again by itself (with mercruiser software running). The software did not recognize trans shift, so tech is thinking Smartcraft computer (?) tech is calling Mercury for direction.

any way to reset and reprogram Smartcraft ?

anybody seen this phenomenon?

I put both trans in reverse to back out of slip and the boat went forward!

merc tech coming back tomorrow (for the fourth time)
 
I had an issue with my joystick Volvo’s going into gear. It was a bad connection on the ECU. It’s not the same brand but just some info.
 
Tech found reverse polarity on port motor. He said I was tightening a solenoid connection and lost connection a moment. He reprogrammed trans controls and is working now��
