2007 330ss, replacement of manifolds and risers

Hi I have a 2007 Formula 330ss which need new manifolds and risers. I am being told that to do it they have to remove one engine to access the in board Manifolds. Is this necessary ? I am being told the cost to do the job will be 10 to 15000 Canadian. ??? That seems high

Has a very good possibility it would be needed. A guy that would know is member tpenfield. If he doesn't show up, PM him

The engines are 496?

Each manifold on the high end with parts needed is about $650 or so. That would be about 2600 for both engines. The dry joint risers usually don't fail.
I would think it's a pain to do, but probably do-able without pulling engines. Even if they have to pull one engine, that still seems crazy high price.

If they are small blocks then you would need manifolds and risers, but I would suspect even more room to change them. I would get another quote for sure.
Can you take pics of your engine room of the manifolds on all sides?

This was my 330SS with 454's in it. While it certainly is tight in there, I don't see how it's not doable.
I did mine with the engines out because I was doing other things and I have the backhoe to pull them with myself.

Sorry one more post. This is my 34pc, that I did do the manifolds on in place with zero issues. Barely any cursing. DSCF5226.jpg

Not necessary to pull an engine to remove the risers and manifolds. So, maybe look elsewhere for the work to be done. My guess is that they would charge for such, but not actually do it that way.

You stated 10-15,000 CDN as the cost estimate, thinking you meant $1,000-$1,500

The space in between the engines is tight, but once you get inside of one engine off, then the other is a cakewalk.
