2013 Fuel gauge Volvo EVC not working

Hi all,

Fuel gauge not working, mechanical or on the vessel view. reads Empty.

Its a KUS sending unit SSS10. Black and pink wire connected to black and red wire in the bilge. Behind the helm it looks like all Nema 2 wire stuff. 3 wires going to the gauge all inline with trim gauges, tach's etc..
(lost).

So how do I ground it out to see if its the sender or the gauge? I also see now that I disconnected it the calibration is gone..And i know i have at least a half tank.

gauge looks like it was engraved in 2015 by someone. may have already been replaced.

Any help appreciated.

If it turns out to be the sender, you may want to use Wema sensors to replace. They are considered the best in the industry. They will make exactly what you require, just give them the size. Good Luck.

just looking for some trouble shooting info. I did jump the black and pink on the gauge side of the harness and gauge didn’t move. But will bad gauge affect the digital gauge in the ECV display?

all new learning curve...
 
Ok new development. Wife says she was watching the percent of tank gauge on the display and we stopped at 95% on last fill up. She said the analog was not working so she looked at the 7” display. So that leads me to the analog gauge.

on order. Will update when installed. Delivery March 20th LOL.
 
Just one thing to check. Last year my fuel gauge stopped working, spent a lot of time trouble shooting. Ended up being a circuit breaker got tripped by items we were storing in compartment under the cockpit sink. Might want to check that first.
 
Ok it wasn’t the fuel gauge. This system has 3 wires that go from gauge to gauge. The fuel gauge was plugged in after the STB trim gauge. I moved it to after the Port trim gauge and it worked. Was just trying a different connection for the heck of it and it works. Go figure.
