2016 Boating Season is Coming Approaching. Travel Plans, Thoughts??

Hello all, It recently hit me that the 2016 boating season is almost here in NJ. I'm excited for a great year. I'm also confident that it will be a busy season with a lot of boats on the water. The reason for that is a few things. You may now but yesterday 2/1 the new tax law went into effect for new and used boat purchases in NJ. 3.5% sales tax with a max cap of 20K. More people are buying boats. The other reason is fuel prices are very comfortable. I;m also seeing that boats are selling very nicely this winter boat show season. People that have been out of boating for a couple of years or more are excited to get on the water this year. Brace yourself for an exciting season and watch out (and help) for newbies.

So, with that in mind, any plans to travel?? Ie.; AC, Wildwoold, NJ, Chesapeake, North to NYC, Long Island, NY, Block Island, etc. Let's hear your thoughts.

Same ole same ole Buddy. AC, LBI, Toms River, Forked River. Just motoring around in the back yard. IDCE and I are discussing a return trip to the Gulf Coast of FL. We'll see how things play out.

We just got back from 2 week trip to the west coast of FL. Great time spent in Ft Meyers, Boca Grande, and Sarasota. Weather was a little rough but Formula ran like a fine tuned clock. IDCE thanks for the Boca Grande tip. Did not stop at Cabbage Key. Due to weather. Will due next trip out.

We just had another 2 ft of snow over the weekend,
and still I have been filled with thoughts of being on the lake (Tahoe) !
Can't wait !

Hello Buddy. Last year we went to Huntington Yacht club. Nice trip. This year we plan to go to Fire Island and Haverstraw. I'd like to know other places to go also. Thanks.

The weather for boating in Florida during mid Feb to mid March is so mixed. Once the Feb full moon passes (22nd Feb) it usually warms up and winds from the south prevail. From now on until mid August it is beautiful....then the rains come and afternoon / evening trips can be a mixed bag.

Hello Buddy, planning on going to sag harbor, greenport, shelter island, block island and Nantucket. Block and Nantucket I will do a fly in and spend the night and fly back. IMO it's too far for the boat and a nice trip to fly. Of course making regular trips to Atlantique. More than likely with "on the line". Clueless
