Hi,
Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove the radar arch on 34PC? I am looking at one that I would need to transport a fair distance and I think it might be too high if I left the radar arch on.
Any instructions would be very helpful.
Thanks!
It is not super complicated, as quite a few have done this...the challenge is making sure you have a way to "manage it", meaning a fork lift, a hoist, etc.
Basically a series of bolts under the "cover" that allows you to remove the arch. Plus a bunch of wired connections....
I am sure someone who has done this on a 34 of your vintage will jump in shortly.
TAG will provide you an email of the process, they did for my 37 PC.
I also have the moving blocks from Formula that may work for the transport. Check with them on that too, I’ll give you a great deal on them! They are reusable, and resellable!
FYI my '95 34PC was transported without removing the arch, no issues. It was travel lifted onto a low boy type trailer and then wet launched when it arrived.
I had my 1999 34 PC hauled from NJ to MD (250 miles) with the arch in place. My hauler had a low boy trailer. No problems. When I sold the boat, it went from MD to OH with the arch still in place. Find a hauler with the necessary equipment.
