34PC - Problem with V Drive Transmission - 8.1 Horizon's

I am having a problem all the sudden with my starboard V drive transmission in my 2005 34 PC. Everything was running great no problems and the next day I put it in gear to move out of my slip and the V Drive Transmission is making a loud Whiny / Grinding noise - makes the noise in both Forward and Reverse. Needless to say, I backed the boat right back into the slip and did not take it out as I don't want to do damage.

Has anyone heard of this type of problem ? What could it be ? I turned the shaft manually with my hands and the shaft seems to move freely.

Did you check the oil? How much water do you normally have under you in the slip, could you have hit something or wound something up on the shaft?

Do your shafts have the magnets buy them. They could be too close? i don't know much about the magnets but i had sqeak and was told the magnets were rubbing after they fixed it. Real easy to see right under the engine.
