3rd Annual Formula Rendezvous Golden Nugget Marina Atlantic City


Hi,

I can help out with some details now but more to come.

Friday 25th, some folks arrive via boat and or car and we usually have a few cocktails on the docks.
The casino has a few venues for entertainment but the July calendar is not up yet.
We will be going to see Darius Rucker concert next door at The Borgata, concert starts at 8pm (tickets $40.50 Gen-admission)

Saturday 26th, more folks arrive. Mid day nothing planned yet, they do have a very nice pool on the roof with great views and music. Evening cocktail party (BYOB) followed by judging boats for awards by secret ballot
Best Underwater Lights
Best Graphics
Most Gadgets
Cleanest Formula
Best Modification
Cleanest Bilge
Traveled Farthest

This will then be followed by a caterered on the dock dinner by Formula Boats North East!
We will do a raffle drawing with some goodies provided by Formula and some other vendors.

After this last year we had a dance party on the dock with a DJ (me), and then went up to the Deck for Dont Call Me Francis Band

Sunday 27th, wake up late if you want, have a nice breakfast on board your boat or head up to the casino for a bite to eat.

Thats all we have right now. If someone wants to chair an event Saturday mid-day please PM me and we can get somthing else going on..
 
FYI.... Don't call me Francis will be playing at the golden nugget the weekend prior to the rendezvous. There is usually good entertainment there Saturday nights.
 
Hi All,

Just an update. After I scrubbed the list (had a few duplicates but thats ok better safe than sorry) we now have 23 boats that have used the RSVP form to update the Golden Nugget. Be sure you call the Nugget and give them your credit card to gaurantee the slip. We were there over this 4th July weekend and the place was packed.. not too many slips on the 34 and up side of H Dock.

Also looks like about 60 people. Don't forget, you can stay at the Golden Nugget if your too far away to come by boat!

C'mon folks, we need to make a record at 50 boats this year!!!!!

Ha. Since I am one of the organizers I am not allowed to participate in the awards. However I can still show off a bit ;D
 
Wow 40 boats that would be a site to see! Especially if all Formulas!

It Dont Come Easy is coming with a few things up her sleeve and will be showing off the engine compartment this year. . . Watch out Hank! Lol
 
That's the key. Did your friend with the SeaRay from last year that you put the red Formula flag on get one yet?? Lol poor guy. Should make another award. Most in need of a Formula for the non Formula owners attending!

We procrastinated and missed out on the low rates also...I don't know how they doubled over night...lol

Went and got the GN card and they keep sending me deals just not Saturday night yet...

Hi all,

Just an update. For some reason the RSVP via website was counting last years RSVPs. So we have 23 boats as of today and 16 are Formulas and about 60 people. I apologize for the error.

Thats still a great result! And I know most will wait til the week before to check on the weather.

The Room block at the Nugget has been extended to Sunday the 13th.

While I was one of the early signups, I am unfortunately not going to make it this year. While I am disappointed, it looks like I will only have one weekend to actually go away this year on the boat and I am going to attempt to venture to Newport from NYC. I am going to make a thread as I have never done that trip before and need all the advice I can get!

Have fun and drink for me in AC.
 
SMOKE will unfortunately not be in attendance in AC this year. Sad I know, I'm not real happy about it either. Had some unfortunate turn of events which didn't work in my favor that are preventing me from joining everyone. Hopefully many will be able to make the Birds on the Bay this year and I'll be able to see everyone then.

Crack open a cold one for me! I'll be back in 2015 to bring the crown of "Cleanest Formula" back to the rightful owner.
