41 PC Volvo TAMD 75 EDC wont engage reverse


So, the wiring harness that was originally installed as part of this safety recall "fix" was checked by the mechanic I finally found in January and seems to be the only one I have found that knows what he is doing. Everything was ok with the harness. That harness was issued a way long time ago. This black box "fix" was issued in 2015 and was never installed on my boat until this past Feb. I did not watch all that he was doing but I do know it was installed somewhere behind the helm...around the potentiometer.
 
I would be curious to see the wiring diagrams and pics of setup. There are so many people having problems with this system there has to be a common denominator and a good repair.
 
Just took her out today and no issues whatsoever! The engine didn’t bog down. The transmission went into reverse without limp mode! All we did was disconnect the wiring harness from the transmission solenoids and give it a good cleaning. Then I recalibrated the EDC controls. I’m praying this works. Was out for 2 hours today with a trip to jersey and ran like a champ even In crappy seas!
