45 with IPS

i'm wondering what everyone's experience has been with the 45 with the IPS drives? i rode in one the other day, and it reported burning 18 gph at 2800rpm. seems awesome! ride was great, and handling was of course amazing. i tend to boat in an area with a good amount of debris though, and i'm wondering how the forward facing props are working out? although, it seems as though all the 40's are going IPS too, so i'll probably end up IPS sooner or later...

anything else of interest?

thanks in advance,
tw

I just took delivery of a 2011 45 yacht and you are right to think that fuel burn is great. I am just amazed at what this boat can do. At 3200 RPM I am at 31 mph with a 30 gallon per hour burn. At 2800 RPM you are still going at a speed of about 26-27 mph with the 20 Gallon per hour average. So far the vessel has exceeded my dreams and ease of operation. You have to understand that I am a first time boater and with the IPS and electronics it's a no brainer. If you are interest in more info call me at 330-766-0906

First time boater and you bought a brand new 45? Wow, congrats! I have never heard of anyone starting off in a 45 Coupe before....... :)

let me give you my honest assesment of this vessel. it looks stunning, handles like a sports car on steroids and with the pods she's very reasonable on fuel. i'm cruising one now down the Tenn-Tom heading out to meet Seadoc in the big pond. I have my lovely wife aboard and she can't stop talking about how nice everything is. of course, this is all happening IN MY DREAMS!! i only wish i could give an opinion on this one. maybe someday..........

IT IS HOT!!! i'm gonna be sweatin' like a whore on nickel night when i get done giving the boat a bath tonight.

thanks levetz for the info! i was actually having conversations with a delivery captain trying to tell him that i saw 31k at 2800rpm with an 18gph fuel burn, and he thought i was nuts. :D he said that if he actually sees that, he'll call it the most efficient boat of that size he's ever run, and he's run an awful lot. when we sea trialed the one that i just purchased, even my broker was blown away, and he doesn't like anything. everyone continues to say what a sexy boat it is too...i love how people stop to watch it as it rolls by. and the IPS is just icing on the cake...gotta love crab walking down a fairway.

i'm excited, and can't wait to get her in her new home port. i'm sure i'll be nervous about the debris in the river for a bit, but i'll get over it.

thanks again!

I had the opportunity to drive this great boat in Spain

It is one of the best boats I ´ve ever driven and it combines Luxury and space with a sportive handling

It turns like a 27 foot boat, easy and very fast
