Yes I just did. I can't remember what brand they put in, let me try to dig that up.
im replacing my 16k btu unit on my 40pc with this one

Thanks, that would be good information. The AC guy is recommending the DTU16 (https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/pr...ners-for-marine/dometic-turbo-dtu-16-_-112125)

Looks like a potentially less expensive option vs Dometic, by about $1k! Are you doing the install yourself? I wonder if the controller from this unit, will fit in the cutout for the Dometic/MarineAir in the cabin panel.

I would be a bit cautious of what an installer may recommend. For obvious reasons they may lean toward one brand over another. I'd highly recommend you do your own research before making a significant purchase like this. There should be a ton of info on this subject available for research.
Im installing myself , all plumbing is same etc ... should be fairly easy .. yes and added bonus is that its almost 1k less... I did all the research on this unit and this company .. they are legit and make good products .. stand by them .. they said the control cable has different pin setup so that has to be changed ... plus their unit has a remote so I would think you would want to use their control head ..

I think vmax was referring to the size of the cutout not the controller.
If you can document the install with some pictures and any issues you come across, that would be helpful to many here.
I know I may have to replace mine soon, the heat was acting up last year. I’ll see how it is here this year.
