Accuracy of the Speedo Wheel

Was wondering about the accuracy of the Speedo wheel - My Raetheon RayData Tri- Data (Original Equipment) which I am replacing with a RayMarine i50 Tri-Data is??? Compared to my GPS the readings do not match. Anyone have info on this.

I almost hate to say this but when all else fails read the directions. Sorry couldn’t resist because I’m famous for not reading them. I can’t specifically give exact procedure but in settings somewhere is a calibration or variable setting to modify the count to make the speed correct. Also make sure the gps and the units are all in knots or mph.

Thanks needed that, those two books in the saddle bags and all papers the previous owner gave me, I'm swamped, but you are right, I should read the book first. I read it to see how to reset the trip log but somehow missed the pages about calibration, but did try to change from knots to MPH and from what I got it can't be done, but I bought the i50 Raymarine to replace the Raydata because the LCD are blending and cannot see anything at night and am upgrading to a NMEA 2000 trunk with Yacht Designs J1708 gateway and their Text display, just ordered that today

Also did not get a desired oil sample report on Starboard engine, so I resampled it just in case I contaminated the first one.

Just for additional headaches and information. I installed a brand new Raymarine Evolution autopilot and added their interface for seatalk 1. With the old C80 display and interfacing the Seatalk1 and adding NMEA 0183 data input to the C80 everything communicates and displays!!! I even turn on the C80 and the new autopilot automatically turns on with the chart plotter. The C80 displays all the data from the autopilot as well. Took a fair amount of research but it is possible to get legacy products to talk to each other.

Does anyone know if it possible to get Smartcraft-5000 unit to talk to a Raymarine E80 device and be able to display Smartcraft info on the E80?

TIA

Yeah for sure....depending what you have their are a few ways to do it....I think the easiest (but not cheapest) is one of ray marines bridges, I thought I saw a thread on that, I will try to dig it .... or perhaps search around a bit as well.
