Auto pilot

I just had a 4G simrad radar and the ev03 simrad gps and was wanting to put an autopilot in. The boat is a 2005 330ss with the 496 volvo pentas. Any one know what unit I should install and what it may cost?

Good luck, I’m assuming the Volvo’s are power assist steering. I couldn’t get a straight answer and never got to it before I sold my 330. I did have 496s, if you have hydraulic steering or are willing to spend the coin to put it in then you can use one of simrads systems...

Good Luck! im in the same boat. i am installing new Garmin Chartplotter, Radar, and Autopilot. I assumed had hydraulic steering in my 2008 34PC. but i do not. i have T496-bravo3 with power steering. I called Formula to ask what to do. They said unless the boat was ordered with Axius, it has Cable Steering. They are getting back to me with a parts list to convert my Helm to hydraulic. no turning back now. break out another thousand(s)

409, Keep this updated. I'm curious to see how you pull it off. There is a system that I think will work with power assist however I'm not sure it would integrate with a Garmin or Simrad so whats the point right...

I can't really be of any help but remembered there beinga few threads on installs. These are bigger PC's and one has rudders but you might get some useful info out of them.

Thanks for the links and advice. Formula never got back to me with a material list. I called SeaStar. They were very helpful. These are the part numbers of parts i already ordered. Steering Cylinder #HC5328-3 (needs 18" from existing power steering cylinder to starboard side). Hydraulic Helm #HH6191-3 (needs 9.2" clearance behind Dashboard. T Fittings-Installation Parts #HF6007.
Steering Cylinder is Unbalanced - Garmin assured me this would work for my application
I didnt buy hydraulic lines yet, because im still not sure where i am mounting Garmin AP Smartpump.

I thought autopilot on 34pc was standard options? I guess that changed in 08 with axius? All the ones I've looked at had autohelm.
