I have a 2007 400SS with D6-350's. The boat didn't come with autopilot and I want to add it. I have a Garmin 7612xvs so I need something compatible. I'm pretty sure I have full hydraulic steering and not steer by wire. This is what I think that I need but I'm not sure.

Has anyone been down this road before? Do I tie into the hydraulic system at the helm or back in the bilge? Is there a better option?
