Axius - Merc/ Formula and the White Glove Treatment

Just want to let you guys know of something that Merc is actually doing right. I know Merc gets a lot of bashing, so its only right to point out the good stuff as well. Mercury is doing something called White Glove Treatment for Axius owners, and best of all, it is FREE!!! The white glove treatment includes the following: new upgrade to the computer which included skyhook, auto heading, and new antenna for the system, and paid for all the labor. Also, get this. Merc is offering a $150 per battery, up to 3, for the purchase of AGM batteries. All you have to do is buy from a Merc dealer (which my tech is one since he is certified) and they will give you $150 per battery towards purchase and installation. Axius uses a lot of electricity and Merc now wants AGM batteries in the boat. The battery deal was also part of white glove treatment. IMO, Merc is really stepping up to the plate for the Axius owners. In addition, Formula stepped up and provided the horn kit and new trackpad that the boat needs to make this all work. The horn kit is required for Skyhook. Formula was the one who contacted me via letter and told me how to proceed. I am very impressed with both companies.

And BTW, Skyhook is nuts. The new trackpad that Formula sent my tech was over $1000 (Provided by Formula free of charge) , and you need this for Skyhook. Anyway, you simply press a button on the trackpad and the boat stays in one spot. Its crazy. I can see myself using this feature a lot when I am waiting for the fuel dock, etc.

Now if Volvo will just step up and address the water intrusion with their pod drives.....Glad to see Merc and Formula are stepping up to the plate for you. I am sooo jealous about your skyhook!!

Great news.

Nice to see the great treatment and excellent move for Merc and Formula since Volvo has nothing now to offer in the Big Block business and this will further strengthen Merc position in the big block market.

WOW!!!! I GUESS MERC IS FINALLY REALIZING THAT THEY NEED TO OFFER GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING. FANTASTIC.

It's great that Merc is stepping up because they know the time is right to capitalize on what Volvo didn't do in the big block market and that Axius does offer a superior product over Volvo joystick at this time.

WOW - wonder how much of this is really customer service vs. preventative legal issues ::)

I wish Formula would use the Mercury ZEUS set up in the 40PC. I think I would be all over that boat the IPS just seems to have too much water intrusion issues in the pods. When I'm ready to buy I will contact Formula to see if this could be an option.

Any Thoughts?

To be completely honest that same thought crossed my mind as well. I hate to be cynical but....hey it's done and I'm happy for now. Thanks to Formula for sending me the letter and notifying me on how to proceed as well as providing a lot of expensive parts free.

Too fast,

The are no preventitive legal issues here. The horn that was installed is a required item when skyhook is active since both drives are articulating

Also the other items are part of axius 2, but the steering cylinders aren't new. The newest boats coming off the line have all these items plus a smaller pump and revised steering cylinder.

Gotcha....I guess I was only looking at the "battery issues" I've seen and heard about, meaning low power and you loose control.

Not sure if you heard that from me or not but that is the truth with DTS in general and especially Axius. That is why Merc also paid for the pulley upgrade. Bottom line is Merc is going back and upgrading boats from the things they have learned. But to all Axius owners, if your vessel view ever says low voltage, do not proceed. Ask me how I know.....this happened to me once when I had the lead acid batteries and did not have the pulley upgrade.
