How is everyone? Getting closer to launch here in Bay City, Michigan. I am interest in installing new Optima batteries, but I am concerned if they are compatible with my on board charger. It seems they need a special charger because of them being a gel battery. Any ideas out there?
 
Welcome....can you give us a bit more details about your boat, year/model is a good starting point.
 
Hey toofast, I have a 2004 27 PC. Twin 350, 300hp Mercs. I do not have any problems with the batteries in their now, but this is the third summer for them, and I am not sure how long the previous owner had them. The on board charger is the original equipment.
