Bed Upgrade on a 40PC

I just got a 2005 40PC to replace the 37 that I sold. I love the boat but the boss does not like the mattress. She wants me to do something to soften it so she can rest and as we all know, "if mama ain't sleepin', nobody's sleepin"?..lol?Ha anyone either replaced the mattress or added a topper? I would welcome any ideas?

I added a 4" memory foam topper (2" reg foam and 2" memory foam) to the forward berth on my 34'. Used the factory mattress as a template and cut the topper using an electric knife (cut like butter), slid topper right back into its zipper cover. The Queen used a king sheet and sewed up a nice set of fitted sheets.

Now its almost as nice as sleeping in the bed at home. A few $$very well spent.
 
I had a custom mattress made by The Mattress Factory with a topper ran about 1400. We lived onboard for 4 winters. Loved it so much had them replace our home king bed. I don't know if they are in your area but they will not disappoint.

Google the FROLI SLEEP SYSTEM.

I put in under my V- berth. Was about to order a new mattress, Very pleased. So much so put it in an old RV , mattress was on wood just like on the boat, if you call them, they will help you get exactly what you need,,soft, hard,,etc,

Had used toppers previously and every day a backache ---so to each his own in the v- berth. I cut the topper to put in the aft cabin, this works fine because of the cushions,

never heard of that before, practical sailor did a review on it and said it was "amazing". how easy is it to adjust once installed?
