Bennett automatic trim tabs

GSENT Been talking with Bennett about auto tabs
Are you still happy with them , how did , and where did you mount helm switch
Thanks

Mounted switches to the right of the wheel just below the drive switches. Just fit, and comfortable to get to.
I sold the boat so I cannot take any pictures.

Reviving this thread because it's related, it seems Bennett came out with Auto Trim Pro that appears to be plug-and-play.

For $350 or so, this seems like a no-brainer add-on.

It drives me crazy when people walk around the boat and I have to be a slave to the trim tab button. Most of the reviews suggest that ATP responds with near immediacy.

I think I'm going to install it over the winter, so I can report back April 2018. :) :(

Seems like a very easy install and requires no additional cockpit clutter.

So this takes the place of the original buttons. What would you do with your original trim buttons ? Or do you make a new panel and mount this where the old buttons were at ?

It seems to have been purposely designed so that the new control buttons are easily fitted into the same opening as the original buttons.

So the original switch becomes something you eBay for $25 or perhaps pay it forward and send to someone in need. :)

Just called Bennett, there are different kits for Electric or Hydraulic. In addition you need to know what actuators you have so they can sell you the proper part for the top of the actuator (it's what senses the position for the new Auto Trim Pro). I'm in the process of getting that info from TAG

I like your proactivity; want to come talk to my employees?

My boat came from the factory with the tab indicator switch, so I might already have the sensors? I'll call Bennett regardless.

I just noticed you have a new boat with a newer switch setup that looks like its a direct replacement. I have the older switch setup. That's what I was talking about with how to mount with older button setups.

pic of my switches.....

Gotcha. Yeah I think for me, I'd just chuck the existing Bennett switch and replace with the new one.

My boat (2015 310SS) came with factory equipped the Bennett Tabs and the EIC5000 style indicator. The existing indicator is the package with the columns of LED indicator lights for the port and starboard side tabs that indicate tab position, and is visually similar and (reportedly) dimensionally compatible with the new Auto Trim Pro (ATP) control station. I'm tempted to upgrade to the ATP system but only if its not a long, involved effort. My research thus far indicates that existing cabling from the helm to the pump needs to be replaced, and that new cabling gets installed from the indicator to the control unit and then from the control unit to the pump.

My concern is whether I'll be able to pull these new cables between the new display, the new control unit and the existing hydraulic pump without the effort turning into a head standing/hair pulling/body contorting effort. I'd like to be able to pull the cables in the same flexible conduit that is hopefully in place for the existing cables leading from the helm to the pump rather than randomly stringing cable behind the seats.

Does anyone have experience in the retrofit? And if so, how hard was it to fish the new from the helm to the engine compartment? Any other experiences/learnings would be much appreciated.

Yes to this - in a perfect world, the original switch unplugs, the ATP plugs in, and voila...ATP is functional.

Of course, if something is too good to be true, it probably is.

I'm going to call Bennett next week -- I believe you and I probably have the same system (I don't believe much changed between 2015 and 2017).
