Blue Top Optima Battery best??

Hi all,

2000 280SS needs new batteries. Currently has Optima Blue Top (dual purpose). Boat has 2. Any newer brands I should look at? Just stick with these? Thanks.

Battery technology changes daily any more and it is really hard to keep up. I went with AGM's when they first came out and had great success. I believe I got 7 years out of all my batteries which was over double the life of regular lead acid. They can be mounted in any position, even upside down, and can be shipped as a non hazardous product. Remember, you must ensure that your charging systems will accommodate AGM batteries. Today, Lithium Ion seems to be the latest and greatest and from what I've read, they have a great life expectancy. I have no experience first hand, but hoping others with experience can chime in.
